The Power Of DSLR Cameras
ByDigital SLR cameras have brought pro quality photo equipment to average people. Of course a high quality SLR camera is only part of what you need to take fantastic photographs. You will also need to know how to use your camera and that can be quite a bit more complex with a DSLR than with a simple point and type camera.
And I think far more important than knowing all the technical stuff is having a good eye. A good sense of what will make a good picture. A great example of this kind of “good eye” can be seen when looking closely at these Artistic Prints by one of my favorite photographers.
From personal experience I recommend the Canon Rebel XTi Digital SLR. It’s a fantastic camera that has worked well for me without any seriously problems for about 3 years now. It is also rather inexpensive by the cost standards of professional quality cameras. Of course you should know that those standards are quite high, it’s about $650 without a lens!
When you educate yourself more on the subject of pro quality cameras you will come to understand that the lens on the camera is very important. If you are used to point and clicks you are most likely used to thinking that the amount of megapixels is the most important thing but that is not true with DSLRs at all.
With SLRs, the lens is what makes the largest difference in the quality of the photographs. Truthfully the topic of lenses is too deep for me to cover here, I simply want to make you aware of the importance of lenses and that if you want to get serious about taking great photos you will have to look into the topic deeply.
Just like with any other skill, you will only become a master photographer with plenty of studied practice. You have to read all about photography and then you will need to take tons of pictures testing out all of what you’ve found out!
